How many company websites mention Black Friday or Cyber Monday?
1.3% of company home pages in North America, the UK, Europe and Australia mentioned Black Friday or Cyber Monday on 5 November 2026, three weeks before Black Friday on 27 November; 74% of those mentions sat beside an offer.
Who is counted
Websites of listed companies in the Qravitas evidence base in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, Australia and five other European markets, one per company, whose website is confirmed as the company’s own and whose home page could be read on 5 November 2026. Each company counts once, from one reading of its home page on 5 November 2026.
How it was measured
Each home page’s raw HTML was read on 5 November 2026. A page counts when its visible text, image descriptions or image file names use the season’s wording; a mention beside an earlier year, an award or an office party does not count. Pages with under 150 words of readable text are left out. Wording: Black Friday, Cyber Monday or Cyber Week. An offer is that wording within 120 characters of offer language (sale, discount, a percentage off, deal, doorbuster, free shipping, promo code).
Why it matters
Black Friday has spread far beyond US retail. Counting who mentions it, and how early, shows which markets and sectors have adopted it as their own sales moment.

What this does not show
- A mention is not always a campaign. In a hand check of 30 random mentions from this reading, 22 were the company’s own seasonal campaign or content; the rest were news headlines, blog posts, menus or incidental mentions.
- This measures what companies put on their own home page, not what they spend on media or how much they sell.
- Offers placed only in images or behind a click are missed.
- Most listed companies sell to other businesses and never mention Black Friday; the share is of all listed companies read, not of retailers.
- No company is named here. Figures are recomputed as companies are re-read, so they move a little from month to month; the date above is the date this figure was true.
