What share of company websites load fast enough for real visitors?
61% of company websites show their main content within 2.5 seconds for three in four real visitors, Google's "good" bar for Largest Contentful Paint; 51% pass all three Core Web Vitals.
Who is counted
Company websites with enough real Chrome traffic to have public field data. Smaller sites have none and are not included. Each company counts once, from its most recent reading in the readings from the last 180 days.
How it was measured
Real-visitor measurements over the trailing 28 days at the 75th percentile, across all devices, for the whole site (origin), as published for sites with enough traffic.
Why it matters
Load time is a revenue question as well as a technical one: visitors who wait leave before the page has made its case, and paid traffic sent to a slow page costs the same per click and converts less.
By market
| Market | Share | Companies |
|---|---|---|
| United States | 73% | 519 |
| Other markets | 70% | 382 |
| India | 46% | 668 |
Groups with fewer than 40 companies are left out rather than shown on a thin sample.
What this does not show
- Covers only sites with enough traffic to be measured, which skews toward larger companies.
- Site-wide figures; a fast home page can sit beside slow product pages.
- No company is named here. Figures are recomputed as companies are re-read, so they move a little from month to month; the date above is the date this figure was true.
