How many company websites still load Universal Analytics?
20% of company websites that run web analytics still carry a Universal Analytics tag, the Google Analytics version that stopped processing data on 1 July 2023.
Who is counted
Company websites (listed companies, mostly US and India) where Qravitas detected a web-analytics tag when it loaded the home page. Each company counts once, from its most recent reading in the readings from the last 180 days.
How it was measured
The home page was loaded in a real browser and its network requests were recorded. A site counts when it loaded the Universal Analytics library or sent a hit to a Universal Analytics property (a UA- tracking ID).
Why it matters
Those requests collect nothing any more. A site still sending them is usually carrying a forgotten tag, and anything that still reads from the old property (a dashboard, a report, an ad-platform import) is reading a frozen number.

What this does not show
- Only the home page is checked; some sites load tags only on inner pages.
- Loading the library does not prove anyone still relies on it, only that the tag was never removed.
- No company is named here. Figures are recomputed as companies are re-read, so they move a little from month to month; the date above is the date this figure was true.
